Description
The speed of light in a vacuum is a fundamental constant in physics.
Combined with an oscilloscope, this device measures the time traveled by a brief flash of light over a distance of a few meters.
This system is equipped with a LED emitting a short light pulses around 10-15 ns with a repetition rate around 300 kHz. When the light pulse emitted reaches the reflector, it is directly returned to the camera where it will be focused on a photodiode.
A synchronization signal marks the pulse emission moment and constitutes a reference with respect to the signal received by the photodiode, that makes possible to deduce the speed of light.
